The conference for campus innovation.

We are the business of higher education: bookstores, dining halls, campus card systems, housing, and more. This is the conference where our professional peers gather from around the world, where over 180 companies share tomorrow's solutions, and where new inspiration and ideas are discovered in over 100 educational sessions.

Where an industry gathers.

Emerging Professionals Program
Saturday, October 8
3:00pm - 6:00pm

This program is designed for new auxiliary professionals with fewer than five years of experience in higher education auxiliary services. It will feature a key presentation, the opportunity to network with peers over light food and beverage, and an open discussion focused on emerging professionals within NACAS and auxiliary services.

Remarkable Professionals Share One Heartbeat!

What makes one team highly successful while another one fails? What makes one organization interact effortlessly, while another struggles and appears fractured? It is the attitude, preparation, and effort of those involved. When an organization shares One Heartbeat, they accept that no one is more or less important and on one cares who gets the credit as long as the goals are met and the mission is accomplished. This session will foster a sense of ownership and belonging among the participants through a series of exercises and information sharing that will challenge, yet enlighten, the participants. If you attend this session with David Coleman , please leave your ego at the door and be prepared to be a part of a mastermind of free-flowing thoughts, ideas, networking, and connecting!

Learning Outcomes: The Audience Will...

  • Form a plan of action to create leadership and inspired unity as individuals and as a staff of talented employees
  • Learn how to transform passive listeners into active participants
  • Learn the five most common mistakes emerging professionals make that inhibit their productivity and how to avoid them or correct them
  • Learn how to find the strongest link in any organization and to capitalize on that strength
  • Meet and connect with others in the room

Senior Management Program
Saturday, October 8
3:00pm - 6:00pm

Designed for upper- and senior- level management, the Senior Management Program will focus on how to lead into the future given the politically charged and complex environments within higher education. The program will focus on the competencies leaders must master to maximize and leverage their work through innovation, collaboration, and the ability to strategically position their departments. Participants will be encouraged to interact throughout the conference both formally and informally through sessions targeted to this audience.

There may never have been a time in American higher education when bold and smart leadership is more necessary, and auxiliary leaders better situated to provide it. This session will present the four leadership perspectives described in the book Reframing Organizations, allow participants to use a fictionalized auxiliary reorganization case study to assess leadership decision making, and end with Loren Rullman, Associate Vice President of Student Life at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, describing what actually happened in a similar case.

Participants will:

Over 100 educational sessions built for you.

How do we deliver this information? In two different educational session formats designed to meet multiple learning styles: 30-minute flash sessions and 60-minute extended sessions.
