Tour of Naval Academy University
Led by a USNA tour guide, and assisted by a member of the USNA food service team, take a 45 minute behind the scenes tour of newly rennovated dining hall and kitchen spaces, followed by a 45 minute tour of the Academy grounds.

Please don't forget you will need to bring photo ID to enter the Naval Academy

Dr. Bob Hassmiller, NACAS Executive Officer, along with other NACAS leaders will highlight current trends in higher education.  This interactive session will offer and solicit input from participants on ideas for increasing revenues, decreasing expenses and improving quality or enhancing services.  Arrive early to join this lively session!

Lawrence P. Taylor is a former U.S. Ambassador to Estonia.  He has extensive experience in foreign affairs, leadership training, management, and policy development as a career diplomat with the U.S. Department of State - both overseas and in the United States.  Mr. Taylor will share with us his experience in the foreign service and how we may become effective leaders.

See how Johnson & Wales University and Vision 3 Architects were able to reinvent the student experience at three of their existing food service venues by introducing new "branded" food service concepts, high-tech equipment/ideas and exceptional design concepts.

Christopher O'Brien and David Courter of American University will discuss how AU has integrated sustainable practices throughout business process and activities.  Participants will learn about specific projects and programs, resources available, and will learn how to introduce or expand sustainability initiatives on their campuses.

Some say that the College Print Shop is obsolete; others say that digital technology makes the College Print shop more important than ever before.  Let us discuss current trends including networked environments, pay-to-print, outsourcing and exploration of what is in store for the future of the campus print operation.

College and university administrators are called upon daily to resolve a continuous stream of operational issues while simultaneously improving their relationships with bosses, peers, and subordinates.  This interactive hands-on session offers practical techniques for accomplishing both of these potentially conflicting objectives. Bill Dillon, executive vice president of NACUBO will lead this engaging session.
Session B - Your Multi-Million Dollar Business!
Are you marketing your auxiliary services operation like the multi-million dollar business that it is? Join Towson University leaders Joe Oster and Ralph Valle to discuss ways to build awareness by marketing the value of your auxiliary operation and its impact on the institution.

Leadership Roundtable

 

The NACAS Certification Task Force is nearing completion of a new program which will - for the first time - offer and internationally recognized credential to auxiliary professionals.  The "Certified Auxiliary Services Professional" or CASP program is expected to be available later this year.  The panel will report on the status of the certification program development and anticipated events leading up to the launch.
