Management Fee or P&L Retail Services Contract?
Thursday, September 30, 2010
2-3:15 pm Eastern/1-2:15 Central/12-1:15 Mountain/11
am-12:15 Pacific
Presenters: Jean Ann Caywood, Director of Auxiliary Services, Savannah
State University and Ray Petit, President, Petit Consulting LLC
Many educational institutions are funding their new student centers, resident halls, parking garages, etc. with tax-free bonds. Retail spaces being planned for these buildings must meet the requirements of IRS Rev. Proc. 97-13. Essentially, the agreement between an outside management company of those facilities and the institution must be on a management fee basis. In this webinar, participants will learn the following:
1. Circumstances in which they may be required by law to have a management fee rather than a profit & loss retail services contract.
2. Advantages and disadvantages of both types of contracts.
3. Differences in how to write an RFP for each type of contract.
The webinar is being presented by Jean Ann Caywood, Director of Auxiliary Services at Savannah State University, who recently went through the process of creating an RFP for a management fee contract, and Ray Petit, President of Petit Consulting LLC, who provided consulting services to Savannah State for this project.
