Senior Leadership Forum
In partnership with the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce, this educational and networking event is geared to senior leaders (Directors, AVPs, or VPs) with 5+ years of experience in auxiliary services in higher education.
Enhance the strategic planning, thinking, management, negotiation, and leadership skills critical to the successful operation of auxiliary units in higher education! Through lectures, case studies, and group exercises, participants will engage with instructors and colleagues to significantly enhance the performance of their units in today's challenging economic environment.
Led by faculty from UVA's McIntire School of Commerce (ranked #2 by BusinessWeek in Nation's Best Undergraduate Business Programs), the Senior Leadership Forum (SLF) combines academic and practitioner input from experts in the fields of management, strategy, negotiation, and leadership. Each day begins with a distinguished scholar leading the topic overview, followed by an interactive case study involving all participants. Senior-level practitioners cap off the daily discussion with a related presentation.
The SLF Curriculum Includes:
- Leadership: Charisma and Competency
- Organizational Strategies in a University-Wide Context
- Critical Thinking and Performance Measures
- Negotiation
- Marketing: The Service-Value Chain
The next Senior Leadership Forum will take place in 2011 or 2012, and is generously supported by the NACAS Education Foundation.
