Texas hold 'em tournament
Tuesday, October 25, 2011
5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Gatlin E 3 & 4
Sponsored by the NACAS Education Foundation
Put on your poker face for the NACAS Education Foundation Texas Hold'Em Tournament. Players of all skill levels are invited to
participate!
This event will take place in a professional Vegas-like environment
with light refreshments and an alcohol cash bar (non-alcoholic
beverages will be complimentary).
History
Although Texas Hold'Em traces back to 1900, its current popularity is due to the televised World Series of Poker. In 2003, an amateur player who gained admission by winning online competitions bested professional gamblers to win the tournament. So in Texas Hold'Em, even a rank novice can become a world champion!
How to Play
This tournament will feature 10 tables running simultaneously. Each player will be provided with "money" to play for approximately one hour. At the end of this hour of play, the player with the most money at each table will advance to the finals. The deciding round will last no more than 30 minutes and the winner will receive a prize, along with bragging rights.
