Let's face it, life in 21st century America is fast! We are a culture characterized by our anxiety, high expectations and stress. It seems that at every turn we face a new worry. Using his 4 graduate degrees, media savvy and life experiences, Dr. Will presents a new approach to finding balance and fulfillment in your life.
As America's only working psychotherapist, campus minister, and comedian, Dr. Miller has riveted audiences throughout the country with his insights and humor. His insight into the American psyche is astounding. With clarity and approachability, he weaves together a presentation that combines groundbreaking research with hilarious comedy. What do you get when you combine a therapist-minister-comedian with a life-enhancing message? A presentation to remember!
Dr. Miller's presentation is an inspiring and instructive message about establishing equilibrium in your life. What makes this teaching truly unique is the way Miller combines his speech with stand-up comedy. He offers healthful insights into the stresses that affect achievers.
Dr. Miller is from New York City and is a psychotherapist, an ordained Minister as well as a hospital and police chaplain. He has worked in Community Mental Health Centers as well as in drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs. Simultaneously, for 16 years Will had a successful career as a stand up comedian. He has headlined in clubs and theaters across the country, and has appeared with Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole among other stars. He has made numerous television appearances, among them The Today Show, Good Morning America, Larry King & The O'Reilly Factor. Will also hosted the NBC Daytime program The Other Side.

With over 100,000 copies in print, Paul Loeb's Soul of a Citizen has become a classic handbook for budding social activists, veteran organizers, and anyone who wants to make a difference—large or small—in these challenging times. An antidote to powerlessness, it has inspired thousands of citizens to make their voices heard and actions count—and then stay involved for the long haul. Assigned in hundreds of college classrooms, Soul has been particularly useful to get students involved in their communities.
Based on thirty-five years studying the psychology of social involvement, Loeb describes how ordinary citizens can make their voices heard and their actions count in a time when they often feel neither matter. Soul explores what leads some people to get involved in larger community issues while others feel overwhelmed or uncertain; what it takes to maintain commitment for the long haul; and how community involvement and citizen activism can give back a sense of connection and purpose rare in purely personal life.
Writing and speaking in an engaging and evocative style, Loeb offers profound lessons on civic engagement:
Loeb has spoken at 400 colleges and universities nationwide and gotten wonderful responses from being a keynoter or featured speaker at numerous national conferences, including the National Education Association, American Society on Aging, the Unitarian General Assembly, Education Commission of the States, Engineers Without Borders, International Association of Volunteer Administrators, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the American Bar Association's Equal Justice conference, the national association of college honors programs, the national literacy action organization SCALE, and a recent standing ovation at the conference of the national community college honors society, Phi Kappa Theta, a national hunger action conference sponsored by RESULTS, Citizen Action's national conference of environmental and consumer rights canvassers, the National Youth Leadership Council, the 5500-student global warming conference Powershift07, and major gatherings of college presidents, deans, and provosts, one of which inspired an effort called The American Democracy Project, which now reaches 200 campuses. |
Harris Rosen, President and Chief Operating Officer of Rosen Hotels & Resorts, Inc., began his career at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City as a file clerk in what was then called Personnel and later became as a convention salesman. He continued with the Hilton Hotel Corp. occupying various management positions in some of the larger Hilton hotels.
Since the late 1960's Rosen has built or acquired 7 hotels that include the NACAS Annual Conference host property, Rosen Shingle Creek.
A 38-year resident of Orlando, Rosen has repeatedly been recognized by the Central Florida community for his philanthropic efforts. This Fall, he was recognized by the Orlando Business Journal as a "Healthcare Hero" and one of the areas "Top Ten ceos," a recognition he has received on an on-going basis for many years. The Orlando Business Journal has named Rosen Hotels & Resorts one of the "Top 20 Best Places to Work in Central Florida." In 2007, he was honored by readers of Orlando Magazine for making the "Best Contribution to Orlando" and as one of the area's "Most Influential Executive." He was also named "Best Corporate Citizen" by the magazine in 2006 and again in 2007. Readers of the magazine continue to rank Rosen in the top ten of "Orlando's 50 Most Powerful People."
Rosen has received state and national recognition for his community contributions including most recently Sustainable Florida's Legacy Award for his contributions not only for his environmental efforts, but for his contributions to the local community. He was honored in Dec. 2009 with the "Citizen of the Year" award by the Florida School Board Association and in 2005 by the Dream Academy Foundation and Oprah Winfrey for his work with Tangelo Park, among other recognition he has received for this program.
Rosen donated a 20-acre site to the University of Central Florida for the Rosen College of Hospitality Management. In addition, Rosen provided approximately $10 million in additional funds to construct the college. The college opened in January 2004 and is currently the fastest growing college in the United States having grown from 75 students to a current enrollment of nearly 2,500 in just 3 years.
Rosen's most recent philanthropic endeavors have included a $2M scholarship endowment for UCF, (which has been matched by the State), and a continuing multi-million dollar commitment to the Tangelo Park neighborhood.
The Tangelo Park Pilot Program has over the past eighteen years provided free preschool to all two, three, and four year olds who live in the neighborhood, and in addition, an all expense paid education including tuition, books, room and board for those who reside in the neighborhood and who are accepted to a vocational school, a community college, a junior college or four-year public college in the state of Florida. Thus far approximately 350 youngsters who reside in the neighborhood have been provided with full college scholarships. |
